I had this weird thought last night about skating. No clue why it popped into my head, but it did. So here it goes, messy and all.
You’ve got a couple of options when diving into this skate scene. Two Career Tours are calling your name. Or maybe you’re like me and crave the thrill of nailing those high scores in Single Session. Perhaps you’re all about beating the clock — Speedrun mode’s your thing, then. But if you just wanna chill? Free Skate’s calling, no ticking timer to bug ya.
And oh man, the parks! Talk about a variety. Like, a total of 19 places to shred. Some of them classics — Foundry, Canada (don’t get me started on the cold up there), Rio with its vibes, and the chaos that is Suburbia. Then there’s Airport — honestly, how on earth is skating even allowed there? Then there’s Skater Island, Los Angeles, Tokyo, you name it. From the madness of San Francisco to the eerie solitude of Alcatraz. Kona’s in there, and why not get lost in the Shipyard or London? And of course, the Zoo. Really, the Zoo.
But hey, that’s not all. They’ve tossed in three shiny new places to check out: Waterpark (ironic, right?), Movie Studio (because why not pretend to be a star?), and Pinball. Honestly, pinball? What were they thinking — but maybe that’s just what makes it cool.
Now, here’s where it gets wild — New Game+. Yeah, if you’re hell-bent on becoming this skate god or something, dive back in after beating the game. Keep all those sweet stats, and face old goals plus some new, daunting stuff like Pro Goals and Expert Challenges. And here’s a fun bit — Solo Tours let you see what makes each skater tick. Or not, if you get bored.
Let’s jump over to this whole Create-A-Park thing. Got big ideas for your own skate wonderland? Dive into this mode with a ton of customization options. Tons of objects to scatter around — dynamic stuff, personal goals, you name it. Then, swap out your masterpiece with other skater pals or maybe see what wrecks, I mean parks, they’ve concocted.
And hey, bring along the crew for some Multiplayer chaos. It’s better when you wipe out with friends laughing along. At least, that’s what I tell myself.
So there you have it. A whole mixed bag of skating chaos. I didn’t even know where I was headed with this, but here we are. Enjoy the ride, I guess.
