Alright, so Bigscreen just let out the news—kind of overdue—about shipping the first batch of their Beyond 2 PC VR headsets. You know, the sleek, lightweight ones that seem to float on your face. Or so they say. They were supposed to roll these out sooner, but, surprise surprise, delays happened. Anyway, the word on the street is that they’re finally moving, with fulfillment dragging into August. Or maybe longer. Who knows at this point?
And if you’re just now thinking about diving in? Well, you’re looking at an August to September wait. They’ve got this whole backlog thing but aim to clear it by, like, end of September. Seems ambitious, but hey, good luck with that. So, there are two versions up for grabs—Beyond 2 and this Beyond 2e thing, which has eye-tracking tech. Fancy, right? The Beyond 2’s priced at a casual $1,019, and if you want the eye-tracking gimmick, that’ll be $1,219. Direct orders only. No middleman drama.
Now, here’s the kicker. Despite the chaos, Beyond 2 is a hit. Pre-orders were wild. More sales in the first day than the first four months of the original Beyond. Impressive, if not slightly unbelievable. Eleven days in, and they’d outdone the whole first year of Beyond 1. This means more work—expanding production in LA, more hands on deck, and some engineers sent overseas like they’re on a mission to keep things smooth.
Oh, and if you’re waiting on those Custom-Fit Cushions or the Halo Mount? Mixed news there. Cushions by mid-August, but the Mount? Late September or October—bit of a hold-up. That said, some Beyond 1 orders are still in limbo. Those folks get an upgrade to Beyond 2, first dibs, with promises of delivery by late July. Fingers crossed they’re not just blowing smoke.
And don’t sweat over price hikes from tariffs. Bigscreen assured everyone—no price jumps here. At least, that’s what they say. Let’s see if they stick to it.
