Did you see this thing about Microsoft? They’re fiddling around with the Xbox app on PC, trying to get all your games in one spot. They’re calling it an “aggregated gaming library.” Sounds fancy, right? It’s rolling out to those Xbox Insiders (lucky them!) and soon it’ll pop up on these ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. Cool beans, I guess.
The whole deal is supposed to lump together your installed games from third-party places — if they’re supported, that is. So far, we’re talking Battle.net, EA, and Riot Games. Though, EA and Riot are kinda already in there ’cause of Game Pass. Battle.net’s the real newbie here. But hang tight, more are coming. Steam and Epic or GoG could be next. Who knows?
Okay, imagine if they manage to get all those big names like Steam. Then, PC gamers might experience something like console players do. Just saying. GoG Galaxy sort of does this already, but Xbox is smack dab in Windows 11. Makes it convenient, y’know?
This kinda shows Microsoft’s vision. They’re shifting Xbox into some service-oriented brand. Not just the consoles. Like, Game Pass was a hint at this — aiming both Xbox and PC folks. Plus, they’re tossing in these Xbox-branded things into Windows 10 and 11, and now, instead of their own handheld gadgets, they’re optimizing Windows for others’. Go figure.
Anyway, they haven’t spilled the beans on when everyone gets this feature on their PCs. But since it’s hitting ROG Ally handhelds for the holidays, might be a late-year treat or maybe into 2026.
