Revealed: Quality-of-Life Enhancements in Raidou Remastered

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is getting a fresh new look, promising an experience that surpasses its 2006 predecessor. Atlus has unveiled enhancements that will likely entice fans to dive back into this classic title from the Shin Megami Tensei series, offering not only aesthetic upgrades but also additional features for smoother gameplay.

The Devil Summoner games, an offshoot from the Shin Megami Tensei universe, center around the Kuzunoha family and their uncanny detective work using summoning abilities to unravel supernatural puzzles. Released originally on PlayStation 2, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army serves as a prequel set in a reimagined 1931. It’s the third installment in a sequence of five games spanning until 2022.

Scheduled for a June 19 release, this remaster brings about major visual enhancements. After almost two decades, advancements across three console generations have led to sharper graphics, vibrant colors, and immersive ambient effects. Besides these, the addition of voiceovers and richer environments provide a more contemporary feel. To improve navigation, features like a quicksave function and an enhanced objective tracker have been included.

Fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series may already be familiar with Atlus’ spin-offs, but the popularity of Persona 5, which sold over 10 million copies since 2016, paved the way for various sequels and remasters. Meanwhile, Atlus has been expanding its range with titles such as Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Raidou Remastered isn’t just sticking to traditional platforms; it’s also confirmed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, two weeks after the console’s highly anticipated launch. This addition to the Switch 2 lineup could significantly bolster Atlus’s presence and support within the gaming community.
