Are you feeling a bit worn out from hearing all the buzz about “Dune Awakening” without having the chance to dive into the action yourself? Well, you’re in for some good news! The game is set to have an open beta weekend starting from May 9 and wrapping up on May 12, and it won’t cost you a dime.
To jump in, you’ll need to either add the game to your wishlist before May 9 to get a shot at playing it, or try your luck in snagging one of the numerous beta codes being offered throughout the weekend. So while it’s not entirely open to everyone, it’s certainly more accessible—just a crack in the door for those fortunate enough.
Interestingly, this beta is happening just days before the initial release date of May 15. Why the delay, you ask? The folks at Funcom needed a bit more time to perfect the game—give it that final polish to ensure it’s just right when the full version launches.
During the beta, players will have access to the first two regions, promising about 20 hours of gameplay if you really immerse yourself. You’ll get to explore several Research Facilities, test out early abilities from different classes, and even indulge in some PvP at ship crash sites. It’s a hearty sample of what’s to come.
