Kluge Interactive, the talented team behind the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders (2019), has exciting news for VR enthusiasts. Their next venture, a VR fighting game titled FINAL FURY, is set to arrive in early access on Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Slated for release on May 8th, Final Fury will be available for Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR headsets. This game promises to deliver the thrill of classic 1v1 arcade fighting with its unique gesture-based gameplay, all within the immersive world of VR.
In creating this game, Kluge Interactive teamed up with nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong. With his insights, they’ve developed a game that combines hand gestures with real room-scale movements. Players can dive into the personas of six distinct fighters, each with their own moves and arenas, with even more content planned for future updates.
"When Kluge Interactive shared their vision for FINAL FURY, I was immediately drawn to their idea of merging traditional fighting mechanics with a first-person VR experience," Wong shared. "After testing and contributing feedback on features like dashes and grabs, I can’t wait to see how players respond in Early Access."
Here’s what players can expect at launch:
- Become the Fighter: Immerse yourself in VR combat with authentic punches, dodges, and blocks.
- Innovative Combat: Enjoy classic fighter mechanics reimagined for dynamic, physical gameplay.
- Growing Roster: Start with six unique fighters, each boasting their own powers, arenas, and fighting styles.
- Arcade Mode Unlocked: Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
- Online Multiplayer: Experience smooth, competitive play with cross-platform support and rollback netcode.
- Thrilling Soundtrack: Enjoy an original OST from Zardonic, known for work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Excited players can add Final Fury to their wishlist on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and up, as well as on Steam for PC VR headsets. Coming on May 8th, the game will be priced at $9.99.
