Japanese speedrunner Ikaboze has already mastered The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, racing through to the end credits with impressive speed.
At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Tokyo, Ikaboze showcased his skills by starting from an autosave point just outside Hyrule Castle. Divesting himself of equipment, he charged into the decaying stronghold, determined to defeat the formidable Calamity Ganon and the embodiment of pure malice, Dark Beast Ganon.
In an incredible display, Ikaboze accomplished this feat within the demo’s limited 20-minute window, potentially making him the first in the world to conquer Link’s old foe in this enhanced version.
This new edition of the game promises improvements like smoother frame rates, quicker load times, and enhanced graphics. However, fans should note that the Expansion Pass DLC isn’t part of this package.
On the bright side, current game owners who subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will receive the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade as a membership perk.
Gamers worldwide can look forward to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, both in stores and digitally on the Nintendo eShop, when it launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
