Sure, here it goes:

I remember hearing about the Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake coming out, and, oh boy, itβs like a time warp back to the 80s. I mean, the original games were out when hair was big, and, let’s face it, fashion was… let’s call it unique. Anyway, the new versions are set for October 30, 2025. Mark your calendar, or, well, don’t. Up to you.
So here’s the thing β they’re rolling out these remakes with all sorts of bells and whistles. New cutscenes, more difficulty levels, customization optionsβwhatever that means. And they’re planning to jazz up the original trilogy, so weβre getting Dragon Quest 3 with some fresh story content too. Why you might ask? Who knows. Nostalgia sells? Probably.
Now, here’s where things get interestingβor frustrating, depending on who you are. I saw in a FAQ that if you get these on the original Switch, forget about upgrading to Switch 2 later. Nope, nada. Well, okay, you can play it on the Switch 2, but it won’t have the fancy new graphics. Theyβre calling them separate games, which means no shared saves either. Yeah, that got me too. How annoying.
Switch but no Switch 2 saves? Got it? Good. You can play Dragon Quest 3 and get some bonus outfits for your efforts, though. Dog suit, cat suitβbecause why not? Itβs a small nod, though, so maybe it matters to someone. Or maybe it doesn’t.
And really, it might bug some folks hoping for that upgradeβitβs all about the graphics on the Switch 2, after all. This gives everyone some time until October 30 to think it over. The Dragon Quest 3 remake sold like hotcakes, so I’m guessing these will fly off the shelves too. Controversy or not, people love what they love.
That’s it, pretty much. I dunno why I thought the sound of ice cracking under a tire was relevant, but it just popped in there. Seems fitting for some reason. Anyway, where was I? Ah, forget it. Go forth and conquer, or don’t. Whatever floats your boat.
