Meta has recently unveiled the top 50 best-selling paid games for Quest, showcasing them in a special section of Quest’s Horizon Store. A quick glance at the list reveals no surprises at the very top: Beat Saber holds the number one spot. Known far and wide, Beat Saber isn’t just a game; it’s become something of a cultural sensation. Just two years ago, it had already raked in over $250 million, counting in any downloadable content.
Following closely are VR cornerstones like Job Simulator and Superhot VR, grabbing the number two and three spots, respectively. Both games have been fan favorites since the early days of VR with tracked controllers dating back to 2016 and are frequent chart-toppers across platforms like PlayStation VR2 and Steam. Other notable classics making it into the top 10 include hits like The Thrill of the Fight, Onward, and Vader Immortal Episode 1. Meanwhile, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, a standalone take on a PC VR favorite, lands at number four.
Interestingly, Virtual Desktop by Guy Godin stands proudly at number six. This tool not only allows users to see their PC on a virtual flat screen and create virtual side monitors—which has been possible since last year—but its main draw is transforming your Quest into a wireless PC VR headset. This feature existed long before Meta’s Air Link or Valve’s Steam Link.
Another noteworthy mention is Population: One, sitting at the 16th position. Remarkably, this game went free-to-play a little over two years ago, and all its sales happened between late 2020 and early 2023.
Absent from this list are Meta’s AAA Quest exclusives like Asgard’s Wrath 2 and Batman: Arkham Shadow. The reason? Asgard’s Wrath 2 was offered for free to every Quest 3 buyer during the headset’s initial 8 months. Meanwhile, Batman: Arkham Shadow has been part of all Quest 3 and Quest 3S bundles since Meta Connect 2024.
Another factor possibly affecting this ranking is the Quest+ games catalog launched last year, offering subscribers access to top paid titles as well as two games each month.
While the list reaches back to the original Oculus Quest’s 2019 launch, lower ranks reveal insights into the shifting age demographic Meta has faced over the past year. Notably, Among Us 3D holds the seventh spot, and I Am Cat, which only entered early access 11 months ago, is at number 23.
