Most players of Monster Hunter Wilds are diving into the game exactly as designed. But, there are some crafty individuals bending the rules. These players are exploiting cheats to embark on unauthorized hunts, snatching up an unjustifiable haul of rewards when they finish. Of course, this breaks the game’s terms of service, risking bans for anyone caught in the act. But that hasn’t deterred the mischief-makers. They’re brazenly posting their skullduggery online for all to see. Within the past few days, a few particularly audacious examples have surfaced on community sites.
You might come across posts like the one from a Reddit user named Valuable_Click_716. They’ve shared details of a Tempered Arkveld hunt that’s anything but ordinary. Normally, you’d expect a straightforward hunt, right? Think again. Complete this mission and you’ll snag over 250 Ancient Orb sword decorations, 244 Ancient Orb armor pieces, a cool 100 golden melding tickets, and an array of Artian weapon upgrade materials. It’s a loot bonanza that’s far from standard fare.
Over at another post by tlam19, you’ll find yet another eyebrow-raising investigation. Finish it and you’ll bag hundreds of tier 6 Artian weapon parts. It’s a cheeky shortcut through the game’s grindy endgame — a shortcut that’s certainly ban-worthy.
Now, the real crux of the matter is we don’t know how robust Monster Hunter Wilds’ anti-cheat system truly is or how frequently it catches rule-breakers. What regular players can do, though, is keep an eye out and report any dodgy dealings they spot. The real kicker, though? Average players could accidentally find themselves in these hunts through the in-game hunt finder. This means a wider pool of gamers, not just the seasoned cheats, might end up with these ill-gotten gains.
So before you find yourself tempted by these forbidden fruits, remember this: players do get banned. If your innocent buddy stumbles across one of your rogue hunts, they risk a ban too. We all get that grinding isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Heck, I’m still chasing that evasive Pierce Jewel 3 to complete my heavy bowgun setup. But risking a permanent ban? Totally not worth it.
