Ok, so here’s the deal. There’s this big thing happening with VR games next month, around, uh, August 12th if I’m not mistaken. Supposedly, it’s gonna be a pretty big deal. They’re calling it the VR Games Showcase or something, and it’s all set to blast off at 8:40 in the morning, Pacific Time. Kind of a weirdly specific time, right? Anyway, there’s a short pre-show named ‘XR Indies & Friends’ which kicks things off. Sounds like they’re getting the party started early.
Now, on to the main shebang at 9:00 AM PT. Apparently, they’re teasing “major reveals” and whatnot. Makes me think something’s brewing for VR fans on Quest and PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets. Like, ooh, the suspense! Funny how they hype it up, right?
People behind this thing are hinting at some really cool updates. They’re name-dropping a few games, like Forefront—if you’re into shooters, I guess. Triangle Factory is in on this. And then there’s Reach by nDreams Elevation. They totally have me curious with their trailer promises. I mean, trailers can be hit or miss, but who knows?
Then, they casually mention Flat2VR Studios like an old friend making a comeback. New initiatives, blah, blah, blah. You’ve got to love a good suspense narrative. And Polyarc’s doing a thing on Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss. They’re doing it from their Seattle office. I’ve never been, but imagining a place with coffee on every corner is nice. Maybe they’re all sipping espressos while they create virtual worlds.
This pre-show segment, XR Indies & Friends, lasts 20 minutes. Sounds like a highlight reel of indie brilliance coming up. Kinda cool if you like surprises, right?
Honestly, we’ll see where all this leads on August 12th. Mark your calendars, or don’t. You can catch the whole parade live, streaming on YouTube and TikTok, of all places. Because of course it’s on TikTok. Anyway, yeah, buckle up for what could either be an exciting ride or just another Monday morning in VR land.
