Man, so there’s this gaming buzz I stumbled on, fresh from Summer Game Fest 2025. It’s like Capcom dropped a bomb of announcements, right? I mean, you got the next Resident Evil finally showing its face, then Street Fighter 6 is adding some muscle, and Onimusha gets… well, you know, swordy. If you missed it, here’s my messy take on the whole thing.
Resident Evil Requiem — Ding, Ding! Here We Go
Okay, I’m hyped about this. Resident Evil Requiem is bringing in Grace Ashcroft (whoever she is, but sounds cool, right?). She’s, like, solving a case? Or maybe she’s running from zombies — who knows. Plot twists and scary stuff — classic Resident Evil. We’re looking at some insane action scenes, supposedly. Like, seriously, this one’s gonna twist the series in a new way. I wonder, maybe that’s what they always say to hook us in. It’s out February 27, 2026. Marked my calendar, might even remember it.
Street Fighter 6, Year 3 — Pow! Smash!
Whoa, Street Fighter 6 is tossing in another set of faces for Year 3. It’s like… remember Sagat? Yeah, the dude’s back to take his crown or something. I saw a clip of his moves, so sharp — almost cut myself watching. Then there’s C. Viper and her gadgets, swinging in fall 2025. Alex, the combo king, and then Ingrid — late spring 2026 stuff. Oh, and get this: Capcom Cup 12’s got a $1,000,000 prize. Imagine what kind of ramen you could buy with that. They released Street Fighter Years 1-2 Fighters Edition too. Basically cramming all past fighters together. Good stuff, I’d guess.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword — Sharp Edges and Haunting Vibes
Alright, Onimusha brings us to the Edo period. Samurai times, full-on. There’s Miyamoto Musashi, and he’s swiping through Kyoto twisted by some dark mojo, as they do. I watched this… second teaser… kind of spooky, with these gnarly enemies. There’s this rival, Sasaki Ganryu, who’s also some sort of demon-fighter? Oni Gauntlets unite! And then a mysterious woman appears (which, typical), out of—surprise, surprise—Musashi’s chest thingy.
Oh, heads up, if you’re itching for some Onimusha earlier, they remastered Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny. New Hell mode and easy weapon switches — sounds like a nightmare, huh? They also bundle it with Onimusha: Warlords. Double the swords, double the… well, maybe not double the fun.
And there it is — sort of a quick and unkempt wrap on Capcom’s announcements at the fest. Whether you’re into zombies, street brawls, or swinging a shiny katana, next year’s lineup has us all jumping. Stay weird, Capcom. Can’t wait to see what else unfolds!
