Today, Bigscreen unveiled its much-anticipated Beyond PC VR headset, promising enhanced viewing capabilities and crystal clear visuals thanks to innovative pancake lenses. The company is also introducing features that are set to entice both home and business users, such as the adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD) and a versatile Lightseal facial interface, enhancing comfort and usability.
Bigscreen is set to launch two versions of this headset: the Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e. Following in the naming footsteps of Apple’s recent releases, the ‘e’ in Beyond 2e signifies the addition of eye-tracking capability.
The Beyond 2e boasts the same features as the Beyond 2 but adds a compact eye-tracking module. This module uses AI-powered computer vision to deliver low-latency and privacy-focused tracking. It’s also integrated seamlessly with platforms like SteamVR, OpenXR, and VRChat, and will debut in a beta program in the summer of 2025.
Price-wise, the headsets come in at $1,019 for the Beyond 2 and $1,219 for the Beyond 2e. However, Bigscreen offers a discount for previous Beyond headset owners, reducing these prices to $849 and $1,049 respectively.
The first round of deliveries is expected in April, with an optional halo-style strap mount scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2025. Users can choose from three color options: Carbon Black, Crystal Clear, and Nuclear Orange.
Like its predecessor, the Beyond 2 employs the SteamVR tracking system, compatible with both SteamVR 1.0 and 2.0 base stations, as well as other SteamVR accessories such as body trackers and Valve’s Index controllers, commonly known as ‘Knuckles’.

While the resolution remains unchanged with the Beyond 2—using the same dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays as the original Beyond from 2023—the real game-changer lies in the new pancake lenses. They reportedly increase the FOV to an impressive 116-degree diagonal, up from 102 degrees in the original model.
The headset also boasts a lighter profile, shedding 16% of its predecessor’s weight, now at just 107 grams. This makes it significantly lighter compared to standalone headsets like the Meta Quest 3 (515g) or Apple Vision Pro (650g) and even among its PC VR peers such as the upcoming MaganeX superlight 8K (179g).
Beyond enhanced brightness and significantly reduced glare, this new lens design promises dramatic improvements with complete edge-to-edge clarity and a larger sweet spot, as the company claims.
For the first time, Beyond 2 introduces an adjustable IPD mechanism, which users can tweak with an included tool. Visible markings inside the headset show the current IPD in millimeters for each lens, allowing for precise adjustments on either side.
Bigscreen touts this IPD mechanism as a significant upgrade from Beyond 1’s fixed IPD system, which required choosing from 18 different sizes and an iPhone scan for custom facial interface fitting.
Regarding accessories, Beyond 2 retains compatibility with Beyond 1’s custom-fit cushions but now includes a universal-fit Lightseal interface, potentially increasing its appeal for home users who prioritize shareability, as well as enterprise customers.
Importantly, many original accessories from Beyond remain compatible with Beyond 2, including its five-meter fiber optic cable, link box, Audio Strap, and soft strap. Pre-2025 prescription lens inserts will work with Beyond 2 but not Beyond 2e, while post-2025 models are compatible across all versions.
The Beyond 2 headset comes with a soft strap, but Bigscreen is also launching a newly designed halo-style mount, inspired by night vision binoculars, set to ship in the third quarter of 2025.
This halo mount offers customizable tilt and eye relief settings, supporting configurations with the Lightseal, custom facial interfaces, or without any. As a separate mount piece, it’s compatible with a range of straps, including the included soft strap and Bigscreen’s Audio Strap, as well as third-party options. Pricing details are yet to be announced, but more information is expected closer to the third quarter of 2025 release.
Bigscreen will be offering the Beyond 2 headsets through their website, with shipments originating from Los Angeles, California, destined for customers across the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. The company is also planning expansion into South Korea, Mexico, Israel, and the UAE later this year.
