Wow, okay, so here we go—Inno3D is doing this funky thing with their new graphics cards. Picture this: the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, but now shimmied down into these single-slot, water-cooled things they’re calling the iChill Frostbite Pro. Why this matters? Well, apparently, the folks who love to geek out over custom loops have been clamoring for something like this. Imagine stuffing up to four of these things in a setup—wild, right?
Right now, if you’re like, “Wait, didn’t they already have a Frostbite series?” you’re spot on. But those were dual-slot, and now they’re going all minimalistic. The big switcharoo is they’re getting rid of the acrylic waterblock and going with something crafted by Alphacool. It’s got this carbon fiber look on the front—kind of like a sleek tuxedo for your card. And guess what? They moved those connectors to the back of the card. More room up front, I guess?
Someone at Inno3D casually mentioned to me that these new cards will run a bit faster, which is cool, but oh boy, that’s gonna come with a heftier price tag. Ah, capitalism at work.
Oh, and a quick side note: Alphacool, the maker behind the waterblock, had this showcase where they were flexing some other coolers too. I remember names like Apex, Core, and ES, or something like that. Seriously, they bring these things out like they’re luxury cars or something.
Now, the juicy bit everybody hates — pricing and the release date? No clue. Inno3D is still fiddling with the details, but they promised updates eventually. So, fingers crossed we hear something soon? Maybe?
