Acer’s just announced six brand-new models in the Radeon RX 9070 series, showcasing both base and OC models that can boost clock speeds up to an impressive 3.1 GHz.

In a fresh reveal, AMD’s board partner, Acer, has rolled out its latest RDNA 4 GPUs, presenting the new BiFrost and Nitro versions. While Acer has been known for crafting AMD cards, they haven’t quite matched the activity levels of some of AMD’s key partners. But this time, they’ve surprised everyone with a robust lineup of six models, three dedicated to each variant.
Among this collection, you’ll find two Nitro editions for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, accompanied by a BiFrost edition for each. The BiFrost models stand out for Acer’s exceptional design and advanced cooling solutions, whereas the Nitro is aimed more at mainstream users, yet boasts competitive features.
Kicking things off with the BiFrost editions, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB is a powerhouse with its triple-fan cooling setup, sleek shroud, and distinct silver accents around the center fan. This cooler integrates the FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans with a clever counter-spin configuration to maximize heat dissipation. Measuring about 295 mm long and 2.5 slots thick, the factory-overclocked BiFrost RX 9070 XT OC clocks up to 3.1 GHz, promising a top-tier gaming experience.
When we look at the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB, it mirrors the XT’s design but uses two 8-pin power connectors instead of three. Intriguingly, both cards have a power rating of 340W, even though the RX 9070 generally consumes less. While technically sufficient, the two 8-pin connectors, together with the PCI-E x16 slot, limit overclocking compared to the BiFrost RX 9070 XT OC.
Moving to the Acer Nitro lineup, it includes both OC and non-OC models for the RX 9070 series. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC features a similar triple-fan setup, boosts up to 3.1 GHz, and resembles the BiFrost edition in size and power needs with its three 8-pin connectors, packing 340W of TDP. Meanwhile, the non-OC version holds a 304W rating, keeps all three 8-pin connectors, and manages up to 2970 MHz in boost and 2.4 GHz in game mode.
The series continues with the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB versions, boasting clock speeds of 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz respectively. The OC model draws 245W, while the standard model operates at 220W, both sporting an identical design.
Pricing details remain sparse, but Acer has pegged the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB at a substantial $829.99. Anticipate the BiFrost version to carry an even heftier price tag. As for availability, while specifics are yet to be shared, expect the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC to hit U.S. shelves in April.
