Hey Xbox Insiders, the festive season is upon us, and we couldn’t resist giving you an early gift. Let’s dive right in and see what’s in store!
Just last month, we shared some exciting news: Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream certain games they own directly on supported devices like smartphones, PCs, and tablets, across all 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is available. We also mentioned that streaming on Xbox consoles is slated to start next year.
Well, starting today, Xbox Insiders who are part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings can get a sneak peek at this feature on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Stream Your Own Game on Your Xbox Console
Now, if you’re both an Xbox Insider and a Game Pass Ultimate member, here’s some great news. You can start streaming select games you own beyond the Game Pass catalog in the 28 supported countries. This “Stream your own game” feature lets you enjoy your games without the need to install them, saving you precious time and hard drive space. Plus, it provides access to your games courtesy of Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta).
To kick off streaming from your Xbox console, navigate to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
If your game is cloud-enabled, you’ll spot a cloud badge next to it.
For quicker navigation, use the filter option and select Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming.
When you’re ready to play, just pick your game and select Play with Cloud Gaming.
Looking ahead, you’ll soon be able to launch directly from the Store app and stream through the Xbox app on Windows PCs.
