Sure thing, let’s dive in.

LEGO Voyagers and Out of Words were, like, totally announced at this big Summer Game Fest. That was, what? 2025? Yeah, 2025. So here’s the thing: these games, they’re all about that local and online co-op vibe. And the characters? They don’t even talk. Reminds me of that one time I played a game and was like, “Wait, do they say anything? Nope, just vibes.” But anyway, Scott Pilgrim is back too, in some new version aiming for next year. So there’s that.
Now, you know how online gaming just took over everything like a crazy wave in the 2010s, right? Local multiplayer kind of faded, like, quietly. I mean, sure, some games are trying to keep both alive. Think Split Fiction or Rotwood – but I digress, kinda. 2025 Game Fest is continuing this saga with more exciting stuff for co-op fans. LEGO Voyagers and Out of Words, treating couch co-op not as some throwaway feature, but, like, the whole deal.
Okay, LEGO Voyagers. Light Brick Studio, those Danish geniuses, are behind this one. And Annapurna Interactive’s the publisher. Adventure-y vibes. You can play on practically everything – PS5, Xbox, Switch, you name it. But when’s it dropping? No idea. What’s in the game? So, you control a brick. Yeah, like, literally. A LEGO brick. The game is about friendship, no words, just a lot of teamwork between two players. It might sound odd, but that’s the magic, I guess.
Then there’s Out of Words. Or, well, originally it was Vokabulantis. Funny, right? Lost their mouths, searching for something, yada yada, and WiredFly’s animations are worth a peek. And again, where are the words? Nowhere. The universe they’re in, Vokabulantis, started as a Kickstarter dream. And who knew? It got the dollars, like a hundred grand! That’s some real commitment. Epic’s publishing, so maybe keep an eye out for that in 2026 or something.
These games support both couch and online play, which sounds kind of essential in today’s gaming world, I guess. Scott Pilgrim EX was also spotlighted, planning for a flashy 2026 release.
By the way, the tires on your car ever sound like wet cardboard when you’re driving over ice? Random thought — but it just made me think about how unique these gaming sounds can be. Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. Enthusiasm levels for local gaming seem to be simmering beneath the surface, waiting for just the right spark to reignite that old-school spirit. Game on, right?
