Okay, so here’s what I picked up. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 are getting a facelift, or what they call a “remaster,” and guess who’s back? Bam Margera. It’s like an old friend showing up unexpectedly at a party, and you’re like, “Wait, weren’t you not supposed to be here?” Right, so, Activision spilled the beans that Bam will be a sneaky, unlockable skater. Like some hidden gem.
Now, folks were scratching their heads because Bam’s been a staple, starting from THPS 3—yeah, I remember that, felt like ages ago—and going all the way till Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground. So, his absence was weird. Apparently—get this—Hawk himself kinda waltzed in like, “Hey, put Bam in.” And Activision was probably like, “Um, we kinda can’t do that,” but Hawk pushed back, “Nah, you will,” and somehow made it happen. If that’s not friendship goals, I don’t know what is.
Roger Bagley from The Nine Club chatted about it—Hawk rampaged? Nah, more like sweet talk, to get Bam over there for some high-tech body scanning. Imagine the guy getting scanned, must’ve been a surreal moment. Bam joked about missing flights from being glued to THPS 2. Sounds legit.
So mark your calendars for July 11, if you like living in digital skate worlds—coming to pretty much every console you can think of. Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, you name it. They’re throwing in new skaters too, like that super cool Rayssa Leal—I’ve totally seen her shred online—plus a facelift for the old sites. Like, Airport? Foundry? I can almost hear the virtual wheels spinning and grinding. An upgrade, but with a throwback soul. Anyway, if you get it, let me know how the old levels feel. Nostalgia is a trip, isn’t it?
