Oh man, where do I start with this wild ride called Tencent’s Polaris Quest? They really went all out changing stuff in Light of Motiram. I mean, classic move after Sony throws a lawsuit at them for pretty much cloning their Horizon series. Seriously.
So, there I was, scrolling through The Game Post, right? And bam! Apparently, they stripped their Steam page cleaner than a kitchen counter after cooking spaghetti—guess they didn’t want folks seeing any resemblance to Sony’s pride and joy. Even yanked the trailer. Not kidding. And talk about flipping the switch on platform availability too.
It’s been on my mind since the big reveal last year—kind of like how you wonder if you left the oven on. How long before Sony went “Hey, wait a minute…” with this Light of Motiram thing? Not too long, turns out. Next thing you know, it’s getting the PS5 nod. Then—BAM—legal eagles take the field this month.
But here’s the kicker that got me really raising my eyebrows: so Tencent was maybe trying to get a license from Sony for Horizon but fizzled out? Imagine if they were like, “Nah, we’ll just make our own.” Makes you wonder if this game ever goes live without getting sliced and diced by the lawyers. Will it still carry any of that gameplay swagger we got hyped about?
What’s your take? Did they blatantly swipe from Horizon? Give me a shout in the chaos below!
