Square Enix is doing something again. Guess what? They’re cooking up “The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales” for both Nintendo Switch 2 and the regular ol’ Switch. Yep.
So, right, there’s this wild land called Philabieldia—where apparently things aren’t just mildly unfriendly but totally teeming with nasty beasts. These ruins pop up beyond the safe little bubble of the Kingdom of Huther, and that’s where a young dude, Elliot, teams up with this fairy, Faie. They’re off on this crazy quest that somehow stretches across space and time. Sounds like their calendar’s packed, doesn’t it?
Anyway, the two of them—Elliot and Faie—are wandering around this huge, beastly world full of who-knows-what. Secret caves? Ancient ruins? You got it. Elliot’s a bit of a weapon geek—he’s got seven types, from swords close enough for a hug to chains and sickles, which I guess work like bringing the enemy in for a cozy little chat. And you can mess around with magicite to tweak those weapons. Faie’s got her own bag of tricks too—like nab stuff that’s way out of reach or smack enemies upside the head.
Tomoya Asano chirped in a blog post (thanks, Tomoya!) about how this is their first action RPG in the HD-2D thing they’re doing. The gameplay is supposed to be super simple—not rocket science, but still a sweet, challenging ride. Started with Octopath Traveler, went off-road with Triangle Strategy, and now, bam, an action RPG. A nifty zigzag of evolution there.
Oh, and they’re aiming this one not just at their old crowd—Octopath travelers, Triangle strategists, you name it—but hoping some new faces get drawn in too. Pretty ambitious, huh?
Naofumi Matsushita? That guy chips in saying he’s really pumped for everyone to play the Debut Demo. Elliot’s trekking through a whole millennium of history—like, whoa! If that’s not epic, what is? Buckle up for something really awesome, they say.
Coming to your retail shelves and the Nintendo eShop in 2026. Mark your calendars, or don’t—I mean, it’s still a way off.

And look, there should be trailers and screenshots. Visuals always help, don’t they? Let’s just imagine some stunning graphics here, okay? Cool.
