Life sim inZOI, huh? So, they’re gearing up for the first DLC. I’m not even sure why this stuck in my head, but they finally spilled the beans. It’s called Island Getaway, and get this—it’s free for everyone who owns the game. Pretty neat, right?
Oh, and they’re finally hitting Mac devices too—about time, if you ask me.
So, August 20. That’s the date. Just a day after a big reveal at gamescom’s Opening Night Live on August 19. I kind of thought they’d drop it right after the show. Guess Krafton had other plans—some surprises, some not.
What’s this DLC about? Well, it’s adding a new map, Cahaya. Two islands with a bit of a Southeast Asian vibe. I can practically smell the salty air. Swimming, snorkeling—you name it. Farming, of course, ’cause who wouldn’t want to pretend to have a green thumb? Plus, there’s a whole dress-up game with tropical outfits and hairstyles. Trust me, it’s a look.
The DLC also comes with an update for the main game—so if you’re already playing, it’s probably a good time to dive back in. Farming, fishing, mining—all over the maps now. And they’ve thrown in electric scooters and motorcycles. Vroom-vroom, right?
Character interactions got a boost. New mechanics, like these random gatherings and thought bubbles. “Cooperative actions,” they call them. Sounds fancy, but who knows what that even means?
Quality of life stuff, too. The UI’s getting a makeover, and—brace yourself—90 new music tracks. Yeah, 90. And early gamepad support (still in testing, though).
Oh yeah, almost forgot. August 20 is not just for the DLC. It’s also when inZOI’s making a debut on Mac. Both Steam and the App Store.
That’s it. That’s the scoop.
